21 sentences on owning your energy in a room full of smart people
From introversion to presence: the belief, courage, and energy it takes to simply BE, here and now.
👋 Hello, dear creative. How are you doing today?
Today, let’s take a moment to explore what happens when you walk into a room full of smart people, and how you can navigate that space: reading the room, anchoring your energy, opening up when it feels right, and sometimes choosing not to. There are so many emotions before, during, and after. Each moment holds lessons and confirmations of your inner work, helping you become more at ease with your story, your journey, your expectations, your reality, and your conviction.
May these 21 sentences spark awareness, groundedness, and a bold sense of ownership, so you can step into that room knowing, deep down, that you are more than enough.
When you go to an event, a meeting, or any kind of social gathering, it's more than ever about you and yourself entering at the same pace and rhythm. With time, you begin to align—and even when you're not fully in sync, you end up learning so much more about who you are becoming. It’s a duo entering the room.

Inspired by the 21 sentences on creativity, entrepreneurship, and life, I wrote a few years ago, today I want to explore that entering energy. Some sentences may spark inspiration, questions, observations, reflections—and why not, a tap on the back… it’s all good.
You enter a room of energies already. What sets the encounter is that first look around—the peace and joy, but also the intention and calm. I’ve entered meeting rooms feeling unready, anxious, joyful, just right, or peaceful. And the moment I step in and breathe in the energy, I can adapt—but also set a rhythm for myself.
The energy in the room when you come on time and when you come late… Sometimes, you arrive when everyone is already a group. The kindness of the host and others appears, and reveals a lot about the people: for instance, including you even if you missed the activities. Kind people have a kind way of letting you in.
Isolation for many seasons can hinder your social skills. Yet, if you’re aware, you can pin it on your goals and allow yourself to experience people more, for real. I’ve been like a monk these past months, spending more time with myself, work, and virtual connections. And I must admit… I have to better balance my inner bubble and the needed people gathering.
The handwork of reprogramming your mind will pay off in situ (on spot). It’s also an opportunity to witness progress within. Whatever the energy of the room, I am good.
Smart people—yes, they carry a sense of success, and that is inspiring.
Small groups and one person vs. big groups with the same person.
Depending on the size of the group, we can all behave or show up differently. Some people thrive more in intimate settings, where you can share both deep and light things.
Surprises in playing! When people are engaged in play, they tend to let go of their perception of themselves and others and focus more on what they’re truly about. That focus can lead to unexpected interactions, surprising matchings, and even revelations about confidence in the room.
Coming with a thoughtful gift can shift the energy.
We are a social species, yet we reunite in groups based on so many criteria: education, beliefs, trauma, good experiences, but also openness as a kind of DNA, and creative spirits. Those built from similar woods tend to move toward each other with a certain cohesion. It’s quite fascinating to witness how personalities are redistributed in space.
Intention is the only word that truly matters when you enter that room.
Losing track of time is a good sign. What was the conversation about? It gathered minds.
You don’t need to speak your resume, yet you can intrigue with just a few words. Let the encounter happen—if it has to.
‘‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’’, or in this context, energy is on the radar of the beholder.
You may stand out… through your answers. Somehow, your personality and experience speak louder than what you may look like.
Never judge a book by its cover—and do judge a book by the cover it decided to wear that day. It doesn’t make sense, right? If you miss your first impression, is it the end? Who cares? That’s why we should always look at progress as a currency.
It’s a good sign if you come back—the room must have had interesting topics, laughs, aha moments, and why nots…
People-pleasing is a reminder to drop the mask and just be. In the end, everyone is busy with their own stuff.
When the silent one speaks, the philosopher is speaking.
Meeting new people is a muscle—the more you train, the more you're equipped to own your energy within other energies.
Introverts, despite the uneasiness, do shine. They were never really just introverts. Aren’t we all meant to shine bright like diamonds? It’s our default.
What a journey it is to reach that simplicity of being.
Effortless confidence—shaped by visible bruises, or not.Energy is magnetism. If you can own your energy from the moment you wake up, through your morning routines and the intention you set for the day, then that room full of smart people becomes a playground for the experience life entails.
Feel good, connect good.

Leverage what you have…
There is a long list of renowned artists, painters, musicians, writers, and designers who, despite being introverts, succeeded in owning decision rooms through the strength of their conviction and ideas. The same applies to extraverts who are at ease with speaking and expressing themselves. The truth is, both traits live within each of us. No one is 100% extroverted or 100% introverted all the time. We navigate between the two depending on our environment, our sense of safety, closeness, and even our own beliefs and perception of life. On the other hand, extroverts also face challenges, like learning how not to overwhelm the room with their high energy.
As creatives, we often live in our bubble. That creative bubble can be intense, so much so that others may struggle to understand or keep up with us. And yes, we can be "a lot to handle." But that’s also a gift—if we learn to handle ourselves.
In short, it’s not about owning a room of smart people, decision-makers, and leaders with loud energy or performance. It’s about having a steady conviction in what you’re doing and who you’re becoming. That’s what truly shifts the needle.
We’re all works in progress. Ten years ago, I didn’t walk into rooms the way I do now—and I hope that ten years from now, I’ll walk in even better. Growth comes when we shed illusions about how we look, what success is, and what we think we’re allowed to achieve.
The real goal is to enter the room knowing, deep down, that you are more than enough. That your congruency—your alignment of head, heart, and hand is the fruit of hard-earned work. And yes, walking your talk is a brutal school. But once you land in that abundant place, you can enter any room of decision with confidence, because you have conviction.
