👋 Dear creative. How are you doing today?

An idea is like a new friend who has been watching you from afar, and at just the right time, when they sense you're open, they suddenly appear in your life

Today, let’s look into ideas and their magnetic power over us—when we grasp them and something clicks, either naturally or by intentionally bringing a concept to life. Ideas can also act as a force in our projects. It’s truly humbling to collaborate with an idea; it can take you on a course you never expected. It might get messy and push your buttons, but in the end, it’s not the idea’s fault. We do carry the responsibility for what we choose to do with ideas.

More than ever, the execution of ideas is empowered by AI tools. Within minutes, weeks, or months, you can take an idea to a tangible result and see if it’s worth pushing through. Yet ideas and craftsmanship—that’s a whole other level. It’s a duo dance that technology can’t maneuver alone. So, as Spider-Man said, with great power comes great responsibility.

Here’s a small excerpt from my upcoming book, Inspire Your Female Founder’s Journey. It’s the beginning of the chapter on ideas, and I thought it would be the perfect way to introduce today’s goodies. Enjoy!

More powerful than the mighty armies is an idea whose time has come.

Victor Hugo

‘‘You can pave the way for an idea

I love this quote by Victor Hugo and how it highlights the momentum of an idea, often built on many preceding ones. An idea can have perfect timing because we are ready to recognize it, seize it, and work with it. Additionally, an idea can be as powerful as an army. It is a force to be reckoned with. Many ideas influence our lives, both good and bad, and this suggests that we give each idea its intention and direction. It can be aimed toward the greater good or the opposite. That unique idea is a tool that boldly appears, shining to be acknowledged, for we have paved the way for it.’’

🎙️The audio version and a slightly longer version will be shared below, after the prompt of the day, for my paying subscribers.

Davide Bonazzi: Just one idea, into one concept, can move the needle of the mind

I had seen one piece by Davide Bonazzi several times and even saw it becoming an internet favorite, appearing in many blogs and moodboards. I discovered who was behind that polar bear while pitching to an illustration agency and stumbled upon his body of work. The polar bear was great, but his other work was brilliant, supercharged with the power of one key idea that strikes the canvas.

He is one of those illustrators who swiftly embarks you on a journey into meaning. His work spans from editorial to journalistic and societal revelations. Poignant with poetry, intentionality, and relevance. I’ve felt many aha moments while looking at some of his pieces—“Wow, I wish I had that idea.” Ideas executed with such efficiency in reaching the mind’s target—that’s experience talking.

If you like the work of an artist, illustrator, or writer, check out their oeuvre—or body of work—and try to see it from that perspective. It speaks loudly about their mind, thinking, and process.

🤩 Spotlight peers - with The Art Newsletter

Wolfgang Bakari Burst is a jazz pianist and CEO of The Art Newsletter. He blends tradition with innovation in music and media, curating creativity at the intersection of art and technology.

Wolfgang reached out to me months ago to share his appreciation for this newsletter and expressed interest in collaborating. I thought it would be nice to interview each other and share more about our WHY and vision through both our publications.
Here is his interview feature—and you’ll find mine over on his newsletter. Good things take time, yet momentum never fails!

Art can be political. How does your newsletter highlight art as a voice for change?

At The Art Newsletter, we believe that art education is powerful enough to allow people to draw their own conclusions. Rather than dictating perspectives, we aim to serve as a bridge, bringing diverse art and creativity to the masses. Our mission is to make the arts more accessible and inspire meaningful connections, empowering individuals to engage with art on their own terms.

Which piece of art could represent the mindset and vision of your newsletter?

A piece that stands out is Guernica by Picasso—it embodies the intersection of art, storytelling, and impact. Similarly, we strive to make contemporary art and creative practices accessible and thought-provoking for our readers.

What is creativity for you today? What is the mission of creative people in today's world, if any?

Creativity today is about adaptability and inclusivity. It’s the power to bring diverse voices together and redefine how we interpret the world. The mission of creatives, we believe, is to inspire and connect, turning ideas into tools for understanding and growth. Discover the powerful work by the founder, Wolfgang Burst.
