Keva, I'm so sorry this is happening right now in France. I see the same thing here in the US, unfortunately, and in other areas of Europe as well (mainly Italy and Germany). However, I also see some brighter spots, like the recent elections in the north of Europe (things moved away from the far right there), and especially the upcoming UK election. I agree with you, though: there is much good that comes from a crisis, especially the awareness that there is, in fact, a crisis. People are politically engaged today in a way I've never seen in my own lifetime, and that is very notable.
You're right about creative people drawing inspiration from turmoil, too!
Thank you Andrew for your kind words and no need to be sorry, it is just another symptom of a broader problem. As you said, many other countries have started flirting with these resurgent ideas, but hopefully, more are resilient in common vision. I don't know how things will unfold, but I know we all have to be prepared for whatever happens, just as in life.
True, there is indeed a visible display of disapproval, yet I wonder if people are more engaged at decisive moments... what do we do when, at the most important times for a citizen, few engage in the exercise of their rights for various reasons, including weird election processes? I have always observed and listened to a constant disappointment towards politics from many people and that emotion is just increasing and evolving towards silence.
Thank you for sharing these clarifications and highlights on a global issue.
I saw the debate between Biden and Trump. I have not looked through it thoroughly, but I hope things will get better in the US.
