Synchronicity! Choosing to open your letter over so many others felt like a synchronic moment in itself. As I work through The Artistโs Way, Iโm noticing more and more of these moments falling into my lap. I also believe itโs about continuing to knock on doors and put ourselves out thereโmore exposure, more chances for new opportunities to find us!
Oh, thatโs great to hear! I struggled for days to post it. There was always something else to do, and then it became urgent. But nothing happens by accident, so Iโm glad it reached you at the right time. And with the overwhelming number of emails in your inbox, Iโm even more grateful that you chose to read mine!
It's a subtle and quiet set of dares. Luck can be loud, but it can also arrive with calmness and stillness, no grand gestures, just a hint that builds into a wave.
As Andrew said, we are all lucky.
BTW: Did you find any opportunities interesting? I hope to share more things for illustrators next time. Thanks for sharing, Lira!
Oh yes! I forgot to mention it, but I thought the list you shared was really great. There are plenty of (pure) job listing emails out there, but the illustration opportunities + others you shared feel much more unique and valuableโit usually takes a lot of digging or knowing the right people to find those!
I used to share new ones on the chat on the app but the engagement is low there. Maybe one day I will do a specific Slack channel with exclusive bonuses and more creative prompts.
I like it. Luck happens to everyone, but those who are prepared to act when luck shows up can take full advantage, and that can make all the difference.
Yes, it is quite eye-opening! We are all lucky and we are in our own ways, but timing plays a role for everyone. Luck doesnโt come to us all at once as a collectiveโit moves like a wave. It is similar to the saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" what we perceive as not yet lucky may be the luck someone is praying for.
An artist creating their work, a researcher conducting studies, or a writer deep in their craft doesnโt rely on luck, right? But sometimes, we do need that extra hand of destinyโsomething beyond our control. Or maybe, we can align with it in some way. I suppose detachment might be the greatest gift when it comes to luck. What do you think, Andrew?
