👋 Dear creative! How are you doing today? May in France is a month filled with public holidays...
Have you ever won one of these opportunity knocks?
Before we dive into this week's list, I want to address a burning question: Yes, I have won several grants in the past few years, ranging from 300 to 700 euros for amounts. Even scholarships, and occasionally, I have also received smaller prizes, little treats that I consider gifts from the universe. However, all of this has occurred over several years, and I have yet to experience a series of victories similar to those of the Content Queen.
I failed so many times, yet I still shoot arrows,… wiser arrows.
What’s also happened, quite interestingly, is that even though I wasn’t selected, I received another opportunity, a feature, an invitation to join a community, and a new work possibility. All these small steps have always reminded me that winning is great, but the alignment of wins after several failures is priceless. I remain open to receiving opportunities from aligned directions, and I believe the right one will never pass you by. Even if it takes years to reach you. When it’s meant for you, no one can derail its course... except you.
It's a playful yet organized game. You identify an opportunity—be it for work, leisure, scholarships, grants, trips, residencies, programs, tutoring, art supplies, or technology. If it aligns with your goals for improvement and you have the elements to apply, why wait? Recently, I missed the application deadline for the Pharrell Williams Foundation. I made sure to bookmark it for later.
You win and you win! Even when it doesn’t look like a win, you have mastered something new—pitching, sending proposals, writing, sensing whether something is worth your time, effort, and energy. You have sharpened your eye and refined your arrows. So keep shooting your upgraded arrows—no matter your age, mood (keep your heart light), or location. You never know when your perfect timing will strike. And remember that feeling when you read it and think, “This might just be for me.”
She was like a bird for speed, an arrow for directness.
