Check your chakras + hacks to empower a creative state + cool Monday inspiration
👋 Hello, dear creative. How are you doing today?
A relaxed mind is a creative mind
‘‘Chakra’’ is a Sanskrit word that means ‘‘wheel’’ or "cycle" and refers to a center of energy in the human body. There are seven main chakras situated along the spine, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each of these chakras activates a creative state of flow, intuition, and action.
Ever since I started taking meditation as a daily practice, I have been more focused on pursuing alignment. Meditation has also helped me detect where I may be unbalanced, thanks to pain or discomfort in certain parts of my body that are related to a specific chakra. I was not knowledgeable about this correlation years ago and would often overlook this alternative science.
Meditation led me to chakra understanding
Meditation is one of my favorite tools for achieving this relaxed state. I know how effective I am in such a state, and how more inspired and curious I am in that bubble. Taking up meditation as a daily practice has really helped me gain more grounding and confidence. Whenever I experience discomfort when I am focusing on a project or simply engaging in the act of creating, I tend to do a quick chakra meditation just to clear my mind and bring back a flow.
As a creative, it may not be for everyone to check on chakras, or alternative tools to bring a creative balance. However, I believe that our overall well-being is the foundation for better creativity. Every element is part of a creative formula: your joy, your health, your spirituality, your communication, your relationships, your intellect, your sense of freedom, your risk-taking and much more.
Creativity is an ecosystem. I am more and more conscious of that.
I used to feel overwhelmed and unable to do anything. I didn’t take time off to take care of my mental or physical health. I only focused on my creative endeavours, overlooking most of the ‘‘external life’’ that makes the creative flow meaningful. However, I have come to a realization that in order to create better, I have to choose happiness in all its shapes and forms. By nurturing my whole being, I will be able to allow more ideas, drive, experimentation, and strategic thinking for better, insightful and genuine ‘‘ME’’ creating.
How do I use chakra healing for alignment?
I use specific chakra healing sounds depending on what I want to focus on
I also have crystals that I wear to balance all chakras
I can wear specific colours linked to a chakra I want to boost
Eat a set of food with a specific colour to balance a specific chakra
🍇🥦🍋🍊🍎I also use essential oils to support certain chakras
All this without overdoing it, I know they exist when I feel drawn to these tools I am open to using them. As a creative have you ever made the link between your creative flow and a balanced chakra?
Sending Namaste vibes 🌞
Performance Mastery by Cynthia Erivo
My sister sent me her BBC live concert performance as a gift of love. She told me: ‘‘When you stumble on a treasure, you have to share it’’. It is a practice we do for each other in my family; we may feel one of us needs this book, message, song, speech, etc., more today.
I had never listened to Cynthia Erivo's music before, although she was familiar to me from her acting career. In this set of curated songs, her spirit shines through, and I discovered an artist trait that I have always admired: creative abundance and audacity. She can be an actress, a singer, a songwriter, a thought leader, or anything else she wants to be. It is a true gift to witness how she expands with the same intensity and alignment in different arenas and still ‘‘owns’’ each of them.
Paris vs NewYork in a playful match
This is one of my treasures and a reminder to create a series with these parallel effects. It is a playful and timeless graphic book that Vahram Muratyan crafted.
It is fun and engaging, his eye for detail in culture makes such a difference. French or American, no problem! You are amused by stereotypes and new angles. I would love to see this book’s version for African or Asian countries…
